KDOT approves March bids

The Kansas Department of Transportation announces approved bids for state highway construction and maintenance projects. The letting took place March 20 in Topeka. Some of the bids may include multiple projects that have been bundled based on proximity and type of work. Projects with area connections include:


District Three

Northwest

Cheyenne County on K-27, from the Sherman/ Cheyenne county line north to the east U.S. 36/K-27 junction, milling and overlay, 13.0 miles, Venture Corporation, Great Bend, $2,236,705.64.

Thomas County on I-70, from approximately 2,356 feet east of the Sherman/Thomas county line east to the west edge of the wearing surface at Exit 45, milling and overlay, 10.3 miles, Venture Corporation, Great Bend, $5,641,842.11.

Thomas on I-70, from 3.95 miles west of the K-25/I-70 junction east to 2.85 miles west of the K-25/I-70 junction (westbound driving lane only), milling and overlay, 1.1 miles, Venture Corporation, Great Bend, $101,946.65.

Thomas on I-70, from approximately 2,356 feet east of the Sherman/Thomas county line east 10.29 miles to the west edge of the wearing surface of Exit 45, stockpile bituminous material, 10.3 miles, Venture Corporation, Great Bend, $6,000.

Southwest

Kearny County, on K-25, from the Kearny/Grant county line north to the south city limits of Lakin, milling and overlay, 16.1 miles, Venture Corporation, Great Bend, $1,959,223.40.

Rice County, on K-14 (K-96) from Lincoln Street to Forest Street in Sterling, pavement reconstruction, 0.2 mile, Vogts Parga Construction LLC, Newton, $432,265.59.
