The Ellinwood Senior Center held their bi-monthly potluck on Nov. 24 with guest speaker Sheri Holmes from the Ellinwood School/Community Library. It is one of 50 U.S. libraries selected to host Americans and the Holocaust, a traveling exhibition from the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum that examines the motives, pressures and fears that shaped Americans’ responses to Nazism, war and genocide in Europe during the 1930s and 1940s. The event will run from Dec. 5 through Jan. 10, along with a series of related special events. Photographer Becca Maxwell adds, “We thank Sheri and her staff for working so hard to bring the Holocaust exhibit to our community!”
