Barton County COVID-19 update for Nov. 23, 2020

Barton County Public Information Officer Donna Zimmerman reports that as of 1 p.m. Monday, there have been 95 new cases since the last report at 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19.

This includes 45 males and 50 females. One resides in Albert, four in Claflin, five in Ellinwood, 71 in Great Bend, six in Hoisington, one in Olmitz and seven in rural Barton County.

To date, there have been 1,502 positive cases, including 13 deaths related to COVID-19. There are 321 active cases.

The county has issued 5,580 quarantine or isolation orders and 651 are active.

Statewide

As of 9 a.m. Monday, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment reports there have been 142,050 COVID-19 cases, resulting in 4,777 hospitalizations and 1,456 statewide deaths.

KDHE reports Pawnee County has had 15 total COVID-19 hospitalizations including three intensive care unit admissions, and seven discharged patients.*

Barton County has had 53 total hospitalizations, with 12 ICU admissions and seven patients needing mechanical ventilation. There have been 37 discharged patients.*
