Kansas averaging 576 new COVID-19 cases per day

Kansas has been averaging 576 new COVID-19 cases per day this month, according to the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. As of 9 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, there were 4,153 new cases and 10 new deaths reported statewide since Wednesday, Dec. 7.

For most Kansas counties, the new case rate was “high,” defined as 100 or more new cases per 100,000 people for the period starting Dec. 3 and ending Dec. 9. The most recent five days are not included as data is expected to be incomplete.

Two area counties, Rice and Rush, had a slightly lower new case rate. Their rate was “substantial,” defined as 50-99 cases per 100,000 people.

Stafford County’s new case rate was in the “moderate” range of 10-49 cases per 100,000.
