Pick up a Take and Make craft at the library

Greetings from the Great Bend Public Library! Coming up next week, we have Story Time at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday. This will be the last Story Time before summer, so be sure not to miss it! Don’t forget to grab a related Take and Make craft as well, which will be available all week long. If you can’t make it to Story Time, be sure to pop by and pick one up before they’re gone.

Speaking of Take and Make crafts, we have a brand new one available for teens starting Monday. Teens grades 6-12 can pick up everything needed to make their own Quilled Paper Flowers, complete with an upcycled, one-cup coffee pod for a miniature pot. We also still have an assortment of Teen Take and Makes left, such as a 3D Hologram Projector kit, which allows you to turn select images on your phone into 3D projections, as well as Rainbow Disc Scratch Art kits for some D.I.Y. decor.

Be sure to check our Facebook this coming Thursday, April 29, to see what Lisa will make in her next installment of Lisa’s Delicious Dishes! Recently, Lisa showed you how to make delicious Lebanese meat pies. I can personally say they are wonderful, and I highly recommend you try them for yourself. You can also find all of Lisa’s past episodes on our website, so you can learn to make everything from blueberry coffee cake to a seven-layer salad.

Lastly, we have our Summer Library Program catalog out! Swing by the library and pick one up to see all the amazing things we have planned for this June and July. Each summer newsletter has six whole pages packed with all of our summer events, plus calendars for each month, and information on our summer reading programs and prizes. We have so many amazing events planned, from magic shows to plays to documentaries and family movies, and, of course, tons and tons of crafty fun for all ages and interests. You can even travel the globe with us each week as we explore a different part of the world all summer long, all centered around our animal friends. Grab your own copy of the catalog soon, so you can start planning your summer now!
