LARNED — The Quilting Bees guild held their holiday party on Dec. 3 in the fellowship hall of the First Presbyterian Church in Larned.

Diana Schultz presented each attendee with a gift and directions on making a gift package for candy or jewelry. Candy was distributed by Colleen Wolf. Karen Lofland presented president Ann Hicks with a glue gun holder. Hicks distributed the “You’ve been Socked” Christmas stockings to put on door knobs or car windshields, a type of “passing it on.”

Announcements included a workday in January or February making the patterns of Sunbonnet Sue and Overall Sam blocks or quilt lessons at the quilt shop in Dodge City. Ann Hicks displayed three baby blankets to be used as gifts.

The next meeting will be at 6 p.m. on Jan. 7 at the church with Mary Weber presiding.  Anyone interested in quilting, handwork or sewing is welcome to visit or join. For more information, call the church office at 620-285-6033.
