The Santa Fe Trail Wet/Dry Routes Chapter winter meeting will be held beginning with a dinner at 1 p.m. on Jan. 26, at the Kinsley, Kansas City Building, 721 Marsh Avenue in Kinsley. Dinner is provided by the Kinsley E-Team for $14 and includes a full meal, dessert and drink. Reservations are required by Jan. 19 by calling Alice Clapsaddle at 620-285-3295. Following the meal, a short business meeting will be held including the election of officer and the presentation of the Faye Anderson Award.

Ellen Jones, Fort Larned National Historic Site ranger, will present the program, “Steps Toward Achieving Equality: Women on the Santa Fe Trail.”  This is the year of the centennial of the adoption of the 19th Amendment guaranteeing women’s suffrage in the United States, a struggle that lasted for about 300 years.
