The Barton County Commission, which normally meets on Tuesdays, will meet at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 17, in the Office of the County Clerk on the second floor of the courthouse. The commissioners will meet as the Board of County Canvassers to canvass the Nov. 4 general election ballots.
The regular county commission meeting will follow around 9 a.m. in Suite 106 on the first floor. It will be live-streamed through Microsoft Teams and can be viewed at https://bit.ly/4odnAbC. The commission will select voting delegates for the Kansas Association of Counties annual conference of Dec. 9-11 in Wichita.
Also on the agenda is a change in the replacement of certain computers. On Oct. 28, the commission authorized a purchase from Bauer Computer at a cost of $25,225, to be divided by department. Since the purchase, Central Kansas Community Corrections has declined the equipment and 911 has requested that the laptop be assigned to that office.
Chris Schartz, County Works director, will present information on open board positions on the Memorial Parks Advisory Committee.
After the agenda meeting
Following the close of the Agenda Meeting, the Commission will consider the authorization of personnel changes for classified positions, sign any documentation approved during the agenda meeting or sign any other documentation required for regular County business. Similar action may take place throughout the day.
