Monday sees commission and council meetings

The Barton County Commission will meet Monday morning and the Great Bend City Council will meet Monday evening.

The Barton County Commission will meet at 9 a.m. Monday at the Barton County Courthouse, 1400 Main in Great Bend. The agenda includes a Declaration of a State of Local Disaster Emergency for Barton County, a franchise agreement with Cox Communications to offer cable services, a change order for the courthouse maintenance project and electrical work at the Ellinwood sandpit.

The Great Bend City Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the City Office, 1209 Williams. The agenda includes a public hearing on the assessment of Eighth Street costs, installing stop signs on Morton Street north of 24th Street and south of 25th Street, installing stop signs at 12th and Stone streets, installing stop signs at Polk and Meadowlark, and solicitation of offers to purchase city-owned property at 635 Main.
