Start dates are being delayed by a week for pavement-marking on K-19 in Pawnee and Stafford counties and on K-156 in Pawnee County.

The earliest work will now begin around Monday, April 13, depending on the weather. It had been scheduled to start around this past Monday, April 6.

Motorists should be prepared for traffic delays during the work.

The K-19 project will stretch from Larned, in Pawnee County, for about 20 miles east to U.S. 281, in Stafford County. The K-19 project is now expected to start around Monday, April 13. It is expected to be completed by the end of May, depending on the weather.

The K-156 project will cover about 25 miles in Pawnee County, from the Hodgeman County line east to the west city limits of Larned. The K-156 work had been expected to begin around May 25. It is now tentatively set to start around June 1 and be completed around mid-July, depending on the weather.

During the work, traffic will be controlled by flaggers and a pilot car. Motorists should be prepared to stop and face delays of up to 15 minutes.

RoadSafe Traffic Systems is the contractor for the three separate contracts that comprise the work: $109,498 for one section of K-19; $99,000 for the second section of K-19; and $342,161 for the K-156 project.
