An updated post on the Great Bend Police Department's Facebook page indicates this suspect has been located and is in police custody.

A 19-year-old woman whose throat was cut Thursday night was in stable condition Friday morning, according to a report from the Great Bend Police Department. Law enforcement officers are looking for suspect Timothy Charles Chism, who reportedly fled from the scene at 1120 Morton St.

Officers were dispatched to that address just after 10 p.m. for a reported stabbing. The victim and other witnesses stated Chism, 34, cut her throat and then fled from the residence on foot. Police did not identify the victim but said she was transported to The University of Kansas Health Systems - Great Bend Campus.

Police have issued an attempt to locate notice for Chism for suspected aggravated battery. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Great Bend Police Department, 620-793-4120, or call Crime Stoppers at 620-792-1300 to leave an anonymous tip.

According to the Kansas Department of Corrections offender population website, Chism has previous convictions that include drug possession in Ellis County and assault, drug possession and lewd and lascivious behavior (exposure, with victim less than 16 years old) in Barton County. Those cases are all inactive. After serving time at Lansing Correctional Facility he was released in Barton County in 2017, but after a parole violation he was sent to the Hutchinson Correctional Facility to serve the remainder of his sentence. He was released to Barton County on Sept. 21, 2018, and his sentence expired on Sept. 23.
