Stuff the Bus
Volunteers gather much needed items
new re Stuff Bus 1
A volunteer stands outside of Dillons on 10th Street on Wednesday to help gather donations from customers for the Stuff the Bus Event.

The Stuff the Bus event kicked off on Wednesday, as volunteers helped gather much need donations for community centers in Great Bend. The event is held each year at both Dillons locations and at Wal-Mart.
“This event is very important for the community for the simple fact that there are families that can’t afford school supplies for their children,” volunteer Chyenne Riggs said. “These young people still go to school and do their best. When I was young I got help from the same event, so I know what it means to these children to get what they need for school. I was very honored to volunteer on my day off to help a great cause.”
The Stuff the Bus event is held every year in Great Bend. The program is designed to receive donations of many different types of items to help out local charities in Great Bend to make the community a stronger place to live and help those that are in need.
“This event helps so many people in need,” volunteer Rebecca Ford said. “It helps our agencies spread our dollar a little bit further and it helps lift everyone up in the community. We are only as strong as the people in need. This event makes our community stronger and a better place to live.”
