Barton County Sheriff

A fire was reported at 5:26 a.m. Friday in the 600 block of East U.S. 56, Great Bend.

A non-injury crash was reported at 6:36 a.m. Friday at NW 90 Ave. and West K-4.

A non-injury crash was reported at 5:18 p.m. Friday at the Barton County Historical Society, 85 South U.S. 281, Great Bend.

A burglary in progress was reported at 7:17 p.m. Friday at 1495 NE 60 Ave., Hoisington.

A non-injury crash was reported at 10:42 a.m. Saturday at the Barton County Historical Society, 85 South U.S. 281.

Criminal trespassing was reported 5:45 p.m. at 2005 Patton Road, Great Bend. A pursuit was reported at 5:56 p.m. at 10th and Harrison St. in Great Bend. The Great Bend Police Department’s Daily Incident Log lists these incidents together and notes GBPD assisted BCSO during the pursuit. 

Criminal damage to property was reported Sunday morning at 223 NE Baker Ave., Great Bend.

A burglary in progress was reported at 10:24 p.m. Sunday at 210 Old Manor Road, Ellinwood.


Great Bend Police

Police responded to a report of a fight at 2:32 a.m. Friday at 1014 Stone St. Sheree Bradley, 27, was booked on a domestic battery charge and outstanding warrants for failure to appear in Marion County District Court. She was released to Marion County on those charges.

A non-injury crash was reported at 10:35 a.m. Friday at Stutzman’s Greenhouse, 2542 10th St.

An injury crash was reported just before noon Friday in the 1500 block of Williams Street.

A burglary not in progress was reported at 3:05 p.m. Friday at 2615 Lakin Ave. Items were allegedly stolen from the yard and shed.

A subject reported receiving a scam phone call.

Police responded to a domestic call at 7:34 p.m. Friday at 2939 Quivira Ave. Austin Vicknair was booked on a charge of domestic battery and was released on his own recognizance after 48 hours.

A battery was reported at 9:51 p.m. Friday at Up N Rollin’ Skate Center, 4805 10th St. It was handled as a juvenile call.

A non-injury crash was reported at 10:11 a.m. Saturday at Adams and Broadway.

An individual reported someone using his or her credit card online to purchase items.

Police checked a Great Bend address Saturday afternoon to assist the Hoisington Police Department in a hit-and-run case.

A report of a disturbance at Walmart at 6:08 p.m. Saturday became a Child In Need of Care (CINC) case.

A disturbance was reported at 6:30 p.m. at 2120 Jackson St. after a known person allegedly battered a staff member. The suspect was served a notice to appear in municipal court.

Police responded to a reported disturbance at 6:27 p.m. Saturday at 7th and Hubbard. Brenda Vazquez-Loera was reportedly speeding and trying to fight the reporting party. Vazquez-Loera arrested for criminal trespass and driving with a revoked license. She was released after posting a $1,000 surety bond.

Police responded to a domestic call at 4:11 a.m. Sunday at 1821 Baker Ave. John Ketch and Christopher Ketch were arrested for domestic battery. John Ketch was also charged with battery of a law enforcement officer. Both were released after posting $1,000 bonds.

At 9:48 a.m. Saturday, an individual reported someone using her debit card number to purchase items online. Two additional instances of the same crime were reported in the afternoon.

Police responded to a domestic call at 9:06 p.m. Sunday at 2910 23rd St. Brodie Bretz was arrested for domestic criminal damage to property with bond set at $1,000 or 48 hours in jail.

Police received a report Sunday night of a window broken out on a 2008 Chrysler Seabring parked at 2406 18th St. Officers were unable to make contact with the owner.
