Great Bend Fire/EMS

On Friday, July 3, firefighters responded to an unauthorized burn at 8:15 p.m. in the 700 block of 10th Street and a grass fire, possibly firework-related, in the 100 block of NE 10 Road. On Saturday the 4th there were seven firework-related calls. There were two more firework-related calls on Sunday morning, one in a trash bin and another was to extinguish debris burning in the street.

Emergency Medical Service responded to five ambulance calls Friday, nine Saturday – along with one welfare check – and four Sunday. Two additional EMS calls were canceled en route.


Great Bend Police

An arson case was taken after criminal damage to property was reported at 10:38 a.m. Friday at 204 Fruit St.

Theft from a vehicle was reported at 1206 Roosevelt St.

A non-injury crash was reported at 12:26 p.m. Friday at 220 Tyler St.

A burglary with theft of money was reported at 5808 16th St. Terrance Apt. 25.

A non-injury crash was reported at 4:31 p.m. Friday at 10th and Washington.

Theft from a vehicle was reported at 1211 Roosevelt St.

A non-injury crash was reported at 11:41 a.m. Saturday at Dollar Tree, 3502 10th St.

A non-injury crash was reported at 2:55 p.m. in the 3100 block of 10th St. A vehicle was towed.

A disturbance with damage to a vehicle was reported at 12:02 a.m. Sunday at 2209 30th St.

A non-injury crash was reported at 4:28 a.m. Sunday when a vehicle driven by Harley Kelly struck a tree at the University of Kansas Health System - Great Bend Campus.

An unknown person broke a window on a residence at 408 Walnut St.

A possible sex offense was reported.


Barton County Sheriff

A search warrant was issued at 10:14 a.m. Thursday at 2600 Adams St. 1, Great Bend.

Criminal damage to property was reported Thursday at an undisclosed address in Susank.

A theft was reported at Barton Community College, 245 NE 30 Road, Great Bend.

A pursuit began around 3:31 p.m. Thursday in the 200 block of NW 10 Ave., Great Bend.

A non-injury crash was reported at 9:54 p.m. Thursday in the 1200 block of NW 150 Road, Hoisington.

A structure fire was reported at 4:45 p.m. Thursday at 1216 N. Main St., Hoisington.

A K-9 unit was dispatched to Railroad Ave. and Vine, Hoisington, at 2:12 a.m. Friday.

A fire was reported at 1:37 p.m. Friday at NE 10 Ave. and NE 10 Road.

A non-injury crash was reported at 10:36 p.m. Friday at P&S Security, 255 W Barton County Road, Great Bend.

A burglary was reported Saturday at All Seasons Mobile Home, 4 NW 30 Roads, 1016, Great Bend.

A non-injury crash was reported at 2:47 p.m. Saturday in the 300 block of South Main, Hoisington.

A fire was reported at 8:25 p.m. Saturday at 909 Susank Road, Hoisington.

A non-injury crash was reported at 12:15 a.m. Sunday in the 300 block of West U.S. 56, Pawnee Rock.

A non-injury crash was reported at 2:12 a.m. Sunday at 208 North Main, Hoisington.

Criminal damage to property was reported at 11:17 p.m. Sunday at Big Bend Lake, 100 Washington St., Great Bend.
