Great Bend Fire/EMS

Emergency Medical Service responded to six ambulance calls on Tuesday and six on Wednesday. There was an oil spill Tuesday in the 2800 block of 10th Street. Tuesday fire calls also included one carbon-monoxide check and one smoke smell to check in the 1500 block of 12th St. There was one smoke smell reported around 8 p.m. Wednesday at Alfalfa Pellets LLC, 379 NW 40 Road, Great Bend. They checked hay bales but did not find any fire.

Barton County Sheriff

Officers made 26 traffic stops on Wednesday. Click It. or Ticket It. is in force through the Memorial Day holiday. Tickets will be issued to unbuckled vehicle occupants and other traffic laws are being aggressively enforced.


Great Bend Police

GPBD did an outside agency assist at 1:44 a.m. Wednesday for the Hutchinson Police Department.

A window at 5931 Aspen Dr. was shot with a BB gun.

Police responded to a report of criminal threats at 1:48 p.m. at the Washington Early Education Center, 2535 Lakin Ave. 

A non-injury crash was reported at 3:56 p.m. at the Animal Medical Center, 622 McKinley St.

A non-injury crash was reported at 5:51 at Veterans Park, 4741 17th St. Terrace.

A non-injury crash was reported at 6:11 p.m. at 10th and McKinley.

A traffic arrest was made at 7:09 p.m. at 10th and McKinley
