Great Bend Fire/EMS

Firefighters made three EMS calls on Wednesday and seven on Thursday.

A small, smoldering fire from a burn pit was extinguished at 3:07 a.m. Thursday at 16th and Polk.

A gas smell was reported at 2:54 a.m. Friday at Azria Health Great Bend, 1560 K-96. The gas was shut off and Kansas Gas was called.



Great Bend Police

A non-injury crash was reported at 8:05 a.m. Thursday at Great Bend High School, 2027 Morton St.

A non-injury crash was reported at 10:29 a.m. at Joe Farris Rentals, 3410 Lakin Ave.

There was a report of shots fired in the area of Forest and Jackson at 2:29 p.m. Thursday.

At 10:10 p.m., the GBPD K-9 unit was dispatched to assist at 4th and Walnut in Hoisington. A suspect was arrested for alleged narcotics violations. At 12:38 a.m. Friday, a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) was dispatched to that address.

A stolen license tag was recovered at 10:22 p.m.

An injury crash was reported at 2:54 a.m. Friday in the 1200 block of Polk St.

Officers responded to a domestic call at 3:05 a.m. Friday at 2101 Adams St. 


Barton County Sheriff

Criminal damage to property was reported Thursday at Jacam Chemicals, 5424 2nd St., Great Bend.

A non-injury crash was reported at 10:01 p.m. at NE 110 Ave. and East K-4, Claflin.

A narcotics violation was reported at 10:05 p.m. at 4th and Walnut in Hoisington.

Officers responded to a domestic call at 11:05 p.m. at 512 East 4th, Ellinwood.
