Clayton Allen Mong, age 90, passed away Sept. 17, 2020, at Ellinwood District Hospital, Ellinwood, Kan. He was born June 26, 1930, on the family farm near Ogallah, Kan., to John and Barbara (Weaver) Mong. 

Clayton was a resident of Great Bend since 1957, coming from Russell Springs, Kan. He was united in marriage to Pauline Pierce on Sept. 2, 1951, at her family’s farm near Hill City, Kan. 

He worked with animals his entire life. From his family farm near Ogallah, at Clarance Hanna Farm, Wakeeney Livestock Commission, Riverside Cattle Company, and Thies Packing Company, as a farm hand, livestock buyer to a truck driver hauling livestock and milk. 

Survivors include, a daughter, Barbara Bitnoff of Belpre, Kan.; a son, Clinton Mong and wife Cindy of Kansas, Okla.; a brother, Charles Mong and wife Donna of Wakeeney, Kan.; a sister, Corlene Mong of Ogallah, Kan.; ten grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Mong; a son, Anthony Mong; and five brothers, Curtis Mong, Clyde Mong, Clarence Mong, Clifford Mong, and Carroll Mong. 

Cremation has taken place and burial will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to Barton County Relay for Life or the Arthritis Foundation, in care of Bryant Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed atwww.bryantfh.net.
