HOISINGTON — Elizabeth (Betty) J. Davis, 86, passed away on May 14, 2022, at The Dorset Place, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born March 4, 1936, in Great Bend, Kansas, the daughter of Forest and Elizabeth (Korf) Newkirk.

She married Emerson J. Davis on October 8, 1953. He died January 2, 2015.

She grew up in the Barton County area. She was a cook for St. John’s Catholic School and Hoisington Dairy Queen for several years. She worked at Central Kansas Medical Center as a CNA and later joined Central Kansas Family Practice in 1975 where she retired in 1998 as their practice bookkeeper. She later joined her daughter’s business, Employee Benefit Professionals in Edmond, Oklahoma, as their agency bookkeeper until 2019. 

Survivors include two sons; Jeff (Lisa) Davis of Omaha, NE; and Dave (Carla Rodie) Davis of Great Bend; one daughter, Rebecca Vonfeldt of Edmond, OK; five grandchildren; Amanda (Chris) Wyatt of Omaha, NE; Jacob (Sarah) Wilson of Great Bend; Jake (Karla) Wilkins of Hoisington; Brandon Vonfeldt of Edmond, OK and Megan Vonfeldt of Edmond, OK; nine great-grandchildren; Sean and Hannah Wyatt of Omaha, NE; Emery and Ryker of Great Bend; Jack, Jase, and Olivia Mann of Edmond, OK; Kinley and Adler Wilkins of Hoisington; one surviving brother, Don “Mouse” (Diane) Newkirk of Great Bend; her beloved dog, “Mitzi”;  and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Lucille Stout, and Georgia Dyer; three brothers, Gene Newkirk, Jim Newkirk, and Frank Newkirk. 

Friends may sign the book at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 27th. Family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be no viewing as cremation has taken place. 

Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 28th, at 10:30 a.m. at the Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington.
