Kay Lents Eberhart

FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. — Kay Lents Eberhart, 75, Fernandina Beach, Fla. formally of Great Bend, Kan. went to Heaven on March 30, 2020. Kay was born on July 21, 1944 in Clinton, Okla. to Charles D. And Opal Mae Lents. She grew up in Oklahoma, but later moved to Great Bend, Kan. where she lived until her three children were grown and married. Kay’s greatest passion in life was spreading kindness. She found many ways to do this throughout her beautiful life. She was active in her church and faith. She was a hairstylist, always lending a listening ear and making friends not just clients. She was a mother to three girls, Linda, Kim, and Joy, who she made sure grew into strong, kind women. Who became mothers and did the same thing with their own children and grandchildren. Not only that, after raising them, Kay took in nearly 100 foster children. Giving them a safe, loving place to stay and changing their lives for the better. Kay’s legacy of kindness will live on forever in the chain of love she started. She moved to Florida to be with her daughter, Joy and family, until her recent illness and death.

She is preceded in death by her father, Charles D. Lents in 1986; her mom, Opal Mae Lents in 2018; and her husband David Gene Eberhart in 2002. She is survived by three daughters, Linda (Jesse) Brown, Kim (Brad) Kershner and Joy (Johnnie) Bruno; seven grandchildren, Tara Kershner, Nicole (Bryant ) Dykes, Kirstin Brown, Kaylee (Pedro) Chavez, Kolton Bruno Hudson Bruno and Hadley Bruno; four great-grandchildren, Tierstyn Kershner, Kaylyn Kershner, Harper Dykes and Lyla Dykes; and two sisters, Lou Miller and Ann Gagliardi; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of life will be at a later date in Great Bend.
