Louis Lawrence

Louis Lawrence, former longtime resident of the Chicagoland area, passed away in Milford, Ohio, on Nov. 25, 2020, with his wife Barbara at his side.

Born Nov. 10, 1939 to Fred and Olga (Kruckenberg) Lawrence of Great Bend Kan., Louis was a 1957 graduate of GBHS. He was a member of the Argonne Rebels Drum & Bugle Corps, the debate team, and state president of the Lutheran church youth group. 

Louis was a 1962 graduate of the University of Kansas with a degree in electrical engineering and received an MBA from the University of Chicago in 1976. He retired as president of Natural Gas Pipeline Co. in 1989.

Louis was a man of strong faith and works. Married in 1961, for 59 years Barbara and Louis worked as a team to impact the lives of countless families, individuals and ministries. Louis leaves a legacy of compassion and generosity which continues today. 

He was a man of many talents with a passion for learning. There was nothing he could not fix and very few topics which he could not discuss. 

He is survived by his wife Barbara of Milford, Ohio; son Fred (Mary) Lawrence of Cincinnati, Ohio; sister Susan (Graham) McDonald of Peoria Ariz.; brother Bill (Ellen) Lawrence of Lakeland, Fla.; and grandchildren Chris (Trish) Vincent, Tom (Sage) Vincent and Emma Lawrence, and a longtime friend, Don (RoseAnne) Thomas of Frankfort, Ill. He also leaves three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Sarah (Lawrence) Vincent.

Due to COVID, no memorial service arrangements have been made at this time. The family will advise when it might be possible to gather in remembrance. Memorials for Louis may be made to Kingdom Warriors, 2902 Travers Creek Dr., Milford OH 45150.
