Eleanor H. Ramsey, 90, of Jenera, Ohio, and formerly of Great Bend, died on Friday, November 13, 2020.

She was born on June 20, 1930, in Danville, Illinois to Walter and Anne (Bauer) Siewert. She married her husband Wendell in Watsonville, California on August 6, 1961, and they enjoyed 35 years of marriage together until his death on April 4, 1997.

Eleanor is survived by her sons Steve (Mary) Ramsey of Jenera, Ohio, and Craig Ramsey of Rock Island, Illinois. She is survived as well by six grandchildren including Craig’s children Dustin, Jason and Jamie; and Steve’s sons Jacob (Amber), Aaron (Alyssa) and David (Gina). Eleanor is survived as well by two great-grandchildren, Harper and Silas.


Eleanor was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Patricia.

A graduate of Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois, Eleanor was a music teacher and homemaker and a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Great Bend. She is best remembered as a violinist, who played many years in the Barton County Community College orchestra, for local high school musicals, and for Sunday morning worship services; and she loved every minute of it.  Eleanor was also active in the Etudian Study Club and volunteered for Meals on Wheels.

Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 11, 2020, at Bryant Funeral Home.  Inurnment will follow at the Great Bend Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church of Great Bend.
