ELLINWOOD — Paul Joseph “Lubby” Luebbers, 57, of Ellinwood, Kan., passed away July 12, 2020 at Ellinwood District Hospital. He was born July 10, 1963 in Ellinwood, the son of Norbert A. and Anna Lee Kowalsky Luebbers. He graduated from Ellinwood High School with the class of 1981, and later graduated from North Central Kansas Technical College in Beloit. Paul was a lifelong Ellinwood resident. He was a self-employed carpenter. 

Paul was a past member of the Grove Park Golf Course. He was a former girls’ basketball coach and flag football coach. 

Paul is survived by his two daughters, Larissa Munson and husband Chris of Wamego, Kan., and Audri Luebbers of Arlington, Texas; brother, Vince Luebbers and wife Teresita of Wichita, Kan.; two sisters, Tina Caldwell and husband Jay of Salina, Kan., and Gretchen Deightion and husband Mark of Grove, Okla.; and four grandchildren, Madix, Kayden, Emmrie, and Ainsley Munson. He is preceded in death by his parents.  Graveside service will be at 10 a.m., Friday, July 17, 2020 at Lakin Comanche Cemetery, Ellinwood. Visitation will be from 2 until 7 p.m., Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Birzer Funeral Homes, Lyons with family present from 5 until 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Paul’s Grandchildren Education Fund in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons. The family ask that those attending the visitation and service to please wear a mask, and to be casual dressed, shorts, and t-shirts with Kansas City Chiefs, Royals, or the KU Jayhawks logos on them.
