Virginia I. Quigley, 98, Hays, died Sunday, October 18, 2020 at Medicalodges Great Bend.
She was born July 26, 1922 in Manhattan, Kansas the daughter of Harrison and Elizabeth (Richards) Reed.  She graduated from Manhattan High School in 1940 and attended Kansas State University.  On June 15, 1941 she was united in marriage to Clarence “Al” Quigley, Sr. in Manhattan, and they celebrated 53 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on August 11, 1994.  She was an American Red Cross volunteer at the Fort Riley Hospital, a hospital nurse’s aide in Great Bend, sales clerk in the men’s department of MacDonald’s Department Store in Hays, and served in the Foster Grandparent Program.  Virginia was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Hays, volunteering with the Peddler’s Fair and the gatherings on Wednesdays.  She enjoyed camping, going to Steam Shows, and hosting Mardi Gras parties.  Her loves were faith, family, and football and she showed these loves as a Green Bay Packers and K-State fan, painting wood projects Al made, and doing many craft projects with her grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons:  Mark Quigley and wife Becky and Chris Quigley and wife Tina, all of Hays, a daughter:  Mary Sloan and husband Larry of Albert, two daughters-in-law:  Linda Quigley of Derby and Kathy Quigley of Manhattan, 11 grandchildren:  Sherry Johnson, Jill Quigley, Danielle Miller, Jacob Sloan, Jessie Sloan, Jodie Sloan, Chad Quigley, Amber Delcamp, Dylan Quigley, Christina DelloRusso, and Megan Stecklein, 18 great grandchildren:  Benjamin, Olivia, Elijah, Sara, Montana, Wyatt, Colton, Elizabeth, Ethan, Davis, Tyler, Helen, Anna, Aubrey, Kobie, Oliver, Owen, and Charlie, and three great-great grandchildren:  Hadley, Cale, and Kaylynn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Al, three sons:  C.A. Quigley, Jr., Dan Quigley, and Michael Quigley, and a brother:  Robert Reed.
Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 23, 2020 at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, with Rev. Delbert Stanton officiating.  Burial will follow in Mt. Allen Cemetery.   Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.  Memorials are suggested to the Humane Society of the High Plains or to the Foster Grandparent Program.  Condolences and memories of Virginia may be shared with the family at www.haysmemorial.com
