William “Bill” Clemons

ELLINWOOD — William “Bill” Clemons, 69, passed away surrounded by loved ones in Ellinwood, Kan. on Aug. 2nd, 2022. Born on Aug. 21st, 1952 in Great Bend, Kan. he was the son of William P. and Loretta (Melcher) Clemons. Bill graduated from Ellinwood High in 1970. After graduation he joined the United States Army where he served his country from 1971-1977. Later he married Julia Eggers in Ellinwood on April 11th, 1975. He worked for Schendel Pest Control and Lakin-Comanche Cemetery. Bill was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus #1187. He loved the outdoors, old music, classic cars, and most of all spending time with his granddaughters.  

Survivors include wife, Julia Clemons, Ellinwood, Kan.; son, Jared and Megan Clemons, Ellinwood, Kan.; grandchildren, Emma Kay and Klaire Elizabeth Clemons, Ellinwood, Kan.; and sister, Barbara and Scott Donahue, Billings, Mont. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Patty Shomber.

Memorial Mass will take place Thurs., Aug. 11th 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ellinwood with Father Terrance Klein officiating. Inurnment with military honors will follow at Lakin-Comanche Cemetery in Ellinwood. Visitation will take place Wed., Aug. 10th from noon- 7 p.m. with parish Rosary at 7 p.m. all at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood. Memorials are suggested to Golden Belt Humane Society, Knights of Columbus #1187, or Kindred Hospice, in care of Minnis Chapel, PO Box 246, Ellinwood, KS 67526.
