To the editor:

Dear Editor and Friends in Great Bend and the surrounding areas:

The Annual Mission Benefit Bazaar of the Dominican Sisters of Peace in Great Bend on Nov. 9 was once again a wonderful success!

We Dominican Sisters of Peace and Associates especially thank the the Great Bend Tribune and the businesses of the City of Great Bend for the excellent advertisement of our Mission Bazaar. To the hundreds of friends in Great Bend and in surrounding areas, your continuing response to this effort to raise funds to assist others is phenomenal. This bazaar has become a very wide community to help needy and deserving people across many miles.

The relatively young Dominican Sisters of Saint Catherine of Siena, of Gusau, Nigeria, (who were originally founded by the Dominican Sisters of Peace from Great Bend) have already spread their ministry of faith development, education, and help with daily needs of life, to mission sites outside their own continent. Very important to their work are contributions from others the world over, which have made this inspiring missionary work possible. Funds from the bazaar help support them as well as the poor where the Dominican Sisters of Peace and our Associates work. All of these deserving people will also know your abundant gifts which aid their lives and ministry.

Please know that whether you hung a poster in your business, bought raffle tickets or items at the bazaar, made some of the lovely items we had for sale, or were adults and young high schoolers who came to work – each benefactor to this effort, is daily remembered in the prayer of the Dominican Sisters of Peace and our Associates wherever we minister.

Peace and blessings to each of you,

Sister Eloise Hertel
