HOISINGTON — Mya Maxwell and Bella Baker each converted a free throw as Ellinwood escaped Hoisington's last-minute rally 50-48 for fifth place at the Hoisington Winter Basketball Jam. 

Hoisingon's Addy Mason converted two free throws, but missed a third free throw to tie. Livvy Brewer missed a game-tying field goal at the final buzzer.

Hoisington's Addy Mason hit four 3-pointers for a career high 14 points. Macy Hanzlick scored 11 points and Jaci Guthrie added nine points. Hoisington led 24-20 at halftime as six Cardinals scored in the second period. Hoisington converted eight 3-pointers.

HOISINGTON – Melany Huser scored 21 points to spark Victoria’s first Winter Jam championship with a 58-52 victory over No. 1 seed Cimarron.

Victoria’s Macy Hammerschmidt and Huser converted third-quarter 3-pointers for a 41-35 and the Knights never lost the lead. Brooklyn Kuhn scored nine fourth-quarter points.

Cimarron (8-3) was led by McKayla Miller with 25 points and Melody Carter added 10 points.
