ELLINWOOD 46, HOISINGTON 43

HOISINGTON – Ellinwood's Brittney Simpson rescued the Eagles with two clutch baskets and Mya Maxwell converted the go-ahead basket in a 46-43 comeback victory over Hoisington in Tuesday’s Cardinal Winter Jam.

The Cardinals (1-7) led 43-40 after Steele Brack converted a pair of inside baskets and Kelsi Dalton made two free throws. But Simpson saved the day with a driving field goal followed by Maxwell's rebound basket. Simpson's steal and layup gave the Eagles (7-3) a 46-43 lead. Suzanna Schneider's final 3-point try to tie missed.

Maxwell led the Eagles with 20 points. Ashtin Klepper added nine points. The Eagles trailed 22-13, but scored the first 12 points after halftime for a 25-22 lead. The game swung back-and-forth over the final two quarters.

Kelsi Dalton led Hoisington with 20 points.

HOISINGTON – Ellinwood's David Hammeke scored 15 points as 10 Eagles scored in a 69-26 victory over Victoria in Tuesday’s Cardinal Winter Jam. Tyler Knop scored 10 points off the bench. Kyler Doll had five steals, four assists and nine points.

HOISINGTON – Pratt's Lexi Walker converted six 3-pointers for 18 points to spark Pratt past LaCrosse 54-21 in Tuesday’s Cardinal Winter Jam. Pratt (6-4) scored 33 points on 3-pointers. Danielle Staats scored 15 points and converted three 3-pointers.

HOISINGTON – LaCrosse's Hunter Moragn scored the go-ahead free throw and clinching basket off a steal in a 46-43 victory over Pratt in Tuesday’s Cardinal Winter Jam. Morgan scored 17 points.

Pratt's Matt Shanline scored a basket off a steal and Aiden Crow converted two free throws for a 43-43 tie.
