LINDSBORG – Central Plains’ two-time state qualifier Brynna Hammeke/Kyla Metro (11-0) stayed unbeaten with a 6-1, 6-3 championship victory over Smoky Valley’s Riley Ahlstedt/Magdalena Rauchholz in the Smoky Valley Tennis Tournament.

Hammeke/Metro placed third and fifth the past two years at the 3-2-1A state tennis tournament. The Oilers (25) placed fourth with champion Smoky Valley (42) and runner-up Hesston (38) leading the way.

Lauren Oeser (6-6) finished eighth and Ashlyn Armstrong (6-5) placed 13th with a 8-3 win over Hillsboro’s Anna Jorgensen.

Grace Lamatsch/Ryann Metro (5-6) finished 12th with a hard-fought 8-7 (7-1) loss to Ellsworth’s Samantha Couch/Rebekah Vague.
