LINDSBORG – Larned’s softball team kept rolling with a hard-fought 14-8 and 9-7 comeback victory over Smoky Valley in Friday’s Central Kansas League twin bill. Larned (10-8, 6-8 CKL) ties the Vikings (6-10, 6-8 CKL) in the CKL.
LARNED 14, VIKINGS 8 (G1) – Larned’s Tegan Walker scored three runs and drove in four runs with two doubles and two singles. Eowyn Hedding doubled twice and drove in two runs. Emma Thompson drove in two runs. Jadyn Crosby, Karley Lemuz, Kenzie Reinert and Madison Reinert drove in runs.
Smoky Valley’s Rylie Tolle, Alexis Gordon, Allison Hipp and Kate Griffin drove in runs.
LARNED 9, VIKINGS 7 (G2) – Larned scored seven runs in the final three innings to rally from a 7-2 deficit in eight innings. Kenzie Reinert scored on a wild pitch and Hedding scored on a groundout for a pair of eighth-inning runs.
Kenzie Reinert and Camryn Ettleman each drove in two runs. Walker and Thompson drove in one run apiece. Larned pitcher Madison Wood threw four shutout innings.
Smoky Valley’s Hipp drove in three runs. Kenzley Haxton drove in two runs.
