Patrick Joseph ‘Pat’ Kern, 62, passed away Nov. 25, 2024, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kan. He was born on May 9, 1962, in Great Bend, Kan., to Terry and Marie (Heckens) Kern.

A lifetime Great Bend resident, Pat was the owner/operator of Kern Floor Service. He was raised in the catholic faith, enjoyed wood working and mechanic work, and watching his grandsons’ activities.

Survivors include son, Rex Kern and wife Lacey of Great Bend; two grandsons, Trenton Kern and Kale Kern, both of Great Bend; mother, Marie Kern; two sisters, Loretta Murphy and husband James, and Lisa Mohr, all of Great Bend; nieces and nephews, Jared Kern and wife Shelby, Madison and Dalton Murphy, and Taylor, Kylee and Slade Mohr; and great nephew and niece, Jett and Nova Kern. He is preceded in death by his father; and brother, Michael “Mike” Kern. 

Visitation will take place from noon to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, 2024, with family receiving guests from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., all at Bryant Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024, at Bryant Funeral Home, with Pastor Tim Singleton presiding.
