LAKE BARTON — The 4-man scramble team of Brandon Wells, Matt Karlin, Lance Perez, and Cody Tutak captured the 2026 Cougar Open title, firing a 18-under-par 52 for a four-stroke victory over the field.

The 14th Annual Cougar Open featured 30 teams to support of Barton Cougar athletics at Lake Barton Golf Club.

In the first flight, Jim Jordan, Casey Hubbard, Chuck Fellhoelter, and David Schenek carded 11-under-par 59 to become the 11th team to post a score in the 50s. They earned a 1-stroke victory over four teams tied at 60.

Second flight honors were captured by the foursome of Jake Thompson, Mark VanNorden, Tad Parsons, and Jonathan Pike with a 7-under-par 63.

Chair Eric Gotsche organized the annual event sponsored by the Barton Booster Club that serves as a fundraiser for Barton athletics through tournament participation, sponsorships, raffle opportunities, and donors.

More than $6,000 in prizes were raffled throughout the event, with numerous additional prizes awarded through hole contests.
