PARKVILLE, Mo. –  The Great Bend Bombers travel team (12-7-1) rallied from a 8-3 deficit for an 8-8 tie only to lose 10-8 to Romeoville, Ill. at the 17-and-under baseball tournament at PBR Creekside. 

The Bombers rolled past O’Fallon, Mo. 8-0 and Savage, Minn. 11-1. The Bombers tied Chicago White Sox 3-3 (5-6) and lost 3-1 to Chicago CRB. The Bombers yielded seven runs in four games.

ROMEOVILLE, ILL. 10, BOMBERS 8 – A seventh-inning error by Carter Graham spoiled a rally from a 8-3 deficit in a hard-luck 10-8 setback. Jake Johansen and Owen Likins scored on Gavin Cummings single after the inning was extended on the error.

Graham was the hitting star with a single, double and four runs batted in. Tony Moore, Carson Umphres and Brady Hope drove in runs. Graham singled in Lane French in the first inning. Graham doubled home Moore and French in the third.

In the fifth, Carson Umphres doubled in Moore and Umphres scored on an error. In the sixth, Hope doubled home Cooper Johnson and Hope scored on Moore's single. Moore scored on a wild pitch for an 8-8 tie. 

Romeoville's Cummings drove in three runs and Ian Hickling drove in two runs.

BOMBERS 3, CHICAGO WHITE SOX 3 (TIE) – Johnson scored on a seventh-inning error for a 3-3 tie against the Chicago White Sox (5-6-1). Pitchers Johnson and Graham combined for seven innings.

The White Sox led 1-0 when Jon Osorni scored on an Arthur Stamps single. Bomber Carter Graham scored on a second-inning balk and Cameron Eastman scored on a sacrifice fly by Hunter Herrman.

Stamps scored on a fourth-inning balk. Dan Luster scored on a fifth-inning error. 

CHICAGO CRB 3, BOMBERS 1 – Pitcher Rivera limited the Bombers to three hits to lead Chicago CRB (9-8-1).

The Bombers led 1-0 when Eastman scored on Moore's third-inning sacrifice fly.

Ike Derechin reached on a fourth-inning error and scored on a groundout. After two hit batters, Ellis Alexander singled in Luke Yelich and Elias Diaz scored on a fifth-inning groundout. 

BOMBERS 8, O’FALLON, MO. 0 – All-stater Umphres was a 1-man wrecking crew with a 3-hit shutout and five runs batted in.

Umphres singled in Moore and French in the first inning.

French forced home Eastman in a 4-run second. Umphres doubled home Koehn Ribordy, Hope and French for a 6-0 lead.

Graham scored on Carson Shaver’s third-inning groundout. Herrman scored on a fourth-inning error.

Marshall Gordon had two hits for O’Fallon (15-8-3).

BOMBERS 11, SAVAGE, MINN. 1 – Herrman (3-1) pitched 31/3 innings to earn the victory. Catcher Owen Kaiser threw out Blake Bullis on an attempted steal.

Graham singled, doubled and drove in three runs. Kaiser singled twice and drove in two runs.

Moore scored on French’s single and French scored on Graham’s first-inning sacrifice fly.

Theo King singled twice and scored for the Savage (2-10).
