GARDEN CITY — Great Bend's doubles Aiden Stacey/Jacob Parks placed sixth in the competitive Garden City Tennis Invitational Monday.

Stacey/Parks finished 2-2 with a 8-3 setback to Scott City's Brody Strine/Brody Stoecklein. Panther Aaron Ramirez (3-2) placed 10th with a 8-5 loss to Liberal's Brown. Panther Kai Britt placed 12th. Doubles Chason Ramsey/Manuel Alba Gamon finished 19th.

"We moved players around and in the largest tournament we attend, our No. 1 doubles of Aiden Stacey and Jacob Parks placed sixth," said Panther tennis coach Chris Manning. "They played well for the first time playing together. It was Aiden’s first time playing doubles since middle school. Our singles got a bit unlucky in their draw, but both played exceptional tennis. The start of a busy week, we go to Emporia and home Thursday."
