A combined effort by several law enforcement agencies resulted in two Macksville residents being arrested for drugs, including methamphetamine, marijuana and fentanyl, plus firearms, explosives, and 23 animals from inside the house on N. Spickard Ave.

Law Enforcement makes another big bust in Stafford County

MACKSVILLE - On March 28, 2025 at approximately 10 a.m., the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office initiated a search warrant at 117 N. Spickard Avenue in Macksville. The entry and search were conducted by the Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of the Macksville Police Department, St. John Police Department, Stafford Police Department, Stafford K9 Unit, Kansas Highway Patrol, KHP K9 Unit, Kansas Wildlife & Parks and Stafford County Communications Tactical Unit. 

In the course of the entry, two individuals were taken into custody, Jeremy Luce, 47, and Desiree Parks, 37. 

During the search Law Enforcement recovered: firearms, ammunition, explosives, crossbows, methamphetamine, fentanyl, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, electronic devices, 17 dogs, 3 pigs, 2 pythons, and a salamander from inside the home. 

Both individuals were transported to Barton County Jail with the following charges:

Luce is being charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Paraphernalia, Felon in Possession of Firearm, Child Endangerment, Animal Abuse, Possession of Explosives, Identity Theft, Distribution of Stimulants within 1,000 feet of a school, and Possession of Marijuana.

His bond has been set at $200,000. 

Parks is being charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Child Endangerment, Animal Abuse, Identity Theft, Distribution of Stimulants within 1,000 feet of a school, and Possession of Marijuana.

Her bond has been set at $150,000.

In it’s release, the Stafford County Communications said, “We would like to thank numerous citizens of Stafford County for their help in handling, transporting and housing the animals taken from the residence.
