The Barton County Commission will meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, at the Courthouse with only two new business items on the agenda.
Those items include:
• An update from County Attorney J. Colin Reynolds. Reynolds took office on January 13, 2025. At this time, he will provide an update to the Commission on departmental activities.
• Juvenile Services Director Marissa Woodmansee, representing the 20th Judicial District Services Department, requested bids for a new or used mid-size program vehicle. While the request for proposal included a trade, the better option for the department at this time is to purchase the vehicle outright. The only bid received was from Marmie Ford for a 2024 Chevrolet Malibu LT with 16,852 miles at a bid of $23,195.
Announcements
• In reference to the Golden Belt and Hillcrest Memorial Parks and Cemeteries, all decorations may be placed on graves seven (7) days prior to and shall be removed seven (7) days (after) Memorial Day. Employees will not attempt to find items after being so removed. Additionally, Barton County will not be responsible for the loss of or damage to any appropriate, ornamental items left on any lot, grave or other part of the memorial parks or cemeteries during the listed holiday periods.
