The long-anticipated Italian restaurant at 2917 10th St. in Great Bend will open on Tuesday, June 18. Amore Italian Restaurant is owned by cousins Niko and Nick Ahmeti.

The restaurant will be open from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday and closed on Monday. People can dine in or use the drive-through service.

Niko Ahmeti spoke to the Great Bend Tribune on Friday as he was working on final preparations. He said he became aware that the former KFC restaurant location was available and saw that Great Bend did not have an Italian restaurant. His family has been in the restaurant business for 20 years.

“We’re going to have the best food, possibly, in town. It’s going to be delicious,” he said. “The food is authentic Italian, seasoned and prepared fresh every morning.” There will be luncheon specials.

Amore Italian Restaurant has a full liquor license. They will serve wine and beer to start and they’ll be training staff so they can add cocktails to the menu later.
