Cornerstone Automotive & Tire announced the addition of Jason Linsner as assistant shop manager. He joined the team in April 2025 and brings years of industry knowledge, helping support the shop’s day-to-day operations. His hire is one of several steps forward under local ownership, following Darin Hertel’s transition from shop manager to owner earlier this year.
Linsner has been involved in the automotive industry since his early teens, starting out as a parts washer and working on vehicles through high school and college. He earned his associate’s degree in automotive technology from Barton Community College in 2009, where he was in the same class as Cornerstone owner Hertel.
A lifelong resident of Great Bend, Linsner spent several years in the industry before returning to the independent shop environment. “I was ready to get back to doing what I enjoy, in a place where we can make decisions that improve things for our customers and our team,” he said.
Hertel added, “Jason brings a strong work ethic, deep industry experience, and a practical, customer-focused approach to his role at the shop. It’s been a great fit for the team.”
In his role at Cornerstone, Jason supports the front of the shop by writing up work orders, helping other technicians, checking in vehicles, ordering parts, and assisting customers at checkout. His experience and versatility help the shop maintain a quick turnaround time while staying organized and efficient.
“Jason jumped in right away and made an impact,” said Hertel. “He understands how a busy shop runs and is always willing to step in where needed. With everything we have going on, including appointments, walk-ins, and more tire work, having someone in this role has been a huge help.”
Jason enjoys working on more challenging diagnostics and older vehicles, and he shares Cornerstone’s goal of becoming a one-stop shop for both routine and specialized services. “We want customers to be able to come here for anything, from oil changes and tires to more complex repairs. That means continuing to invest in equipment and making it easier for people to stop in when they need something.”
Outside of work, Jason enjoys spending time with his wife, Desiree, and their two children, Jaydon and Raelynrose. His hobbies include fishing, working on old Dodge pickups and Ford tractors, and taking on house projects.
