The Barton County Conservation District is now accepting applications for the Fiscal Year 2026 state cost share programs. Applications received now through March 28, will be eligible for Group 1 ranking, with contracts to be issued beginning July 1. Additional groups will be added as funds are available.
Practices available for cost share include but are not limited to terraces, grassed waterways, critical area planting, cover crops, stock water wells, tanks, solar pumps and distribution pipelines, brush clearing, windbreaks and shelter belts, plugging of abandoned water wells, and replacement of failed septic systems.
This is an excellent opportunity to receive assistance in completing some needed conservation practices. Funding is provided by the State Conservation Commission through appropriation from the Kansas Water Plan Fund for the Water Resources and Non-Point Source Pollution Programs.
Applications for the program are available at the Barton County Conservation District office located at 10th and S. Patton Rd in the USDA building, or request email service. Call 620-792-3346 ext. 303 for more information.
