Danielle Hunter started Ruhe Rituals at 1509 Main in January of 2024. She introduces the business this way on their Facebook page:
“Become part of a community that appreciates the power of mindful beauty rituals. Follow us for exclusive insights, skin-care tips, and special offers that will enhance your journey through these sacred practices. Where self-care becomes rituals.”
This downtown med spa placed third in last year’s Ignite Rural Business competition and won the People’s Choice Award. Hunter said she used some of the cash prize to update the retail shelves and add IV poles for IV therapy.
“We are the only ones in Great Bend to offer that,” Hunter said. The spa also offers B12 shots (and plans to bring in new shots), an infrared sauna, and more.
Hunter has been a massage therapist for more than a decade and can treat people of all ages.
Two nurses on staff offer IV therapy and an esthetician does facials and chemical peels.
“IV therapy can be a range of things,” she said. “People that might have migraines or headaches; instead of going to the ER, they can hang out here and get the exact same thing for a fraction of the cost.” They have a basic saline IV for hydration, and a range of IVs with vitamins she said can help with weight loss by kicking off clients’ metabolism, while others are good for the skin. “We have ones for joint pain, we have ones for athletes that are high performance and need recovery for muscles. We can mix and match and create these really cool concoctions to help with just about anything.”
Hunter said the business is looking for additional staff. “We have such a need for it that we can’t keep up with bookings, which is a really great problem to have here in Great Bend.”
Many of the retail items offered at Ruhe Rituals are made by local vendors, but she also offers licensed skin-care products that can only be sold by a licensed professional.
“We’ll be rolling out new promotions for the rest of the year, starting in September,” she said.
“We have just introduced body sculpting, which is really exciting,” Hunter said. “Our body sculpting machine uses a four-step process. We use red-light therapy to help warm up the tissue. We use cavitation, which is technically like, ‘melts the fat.’... It does take about three sessions. The third step is radio frequency, (which) helps tighten the skin. We kind of customize on what your body needs, if you need fat loss, or if maybe you just need some skin tightening. And then the last step is red light therapy with vacuum, so it helps move it around in the lymphatic system and helps get it out of your system.”
She invited everyone to check out actual clients’ before and after photos on social media.
