The University of Kansas Health System in Great Bend welcomes Amir Naderi, MD, a board-certified internal medicine specialist who is also a hospitalist. A hospitalist is a physician who specializes in caring for patients while they are being treated in the hospital.
Dr. Naderi grew up in a mid-size community, which is part of what drew him to Great Bend. The other part of what drew him is the opportunity to be part of an academic medical system while practicing in a rural hospital.
“I am excited to be treating patients in a rural setting where there is great need and necessity for the best care,” he said. “The University of Kansas Health System fulfills the needs of our patients in whatever setting they are seen.”
Cardiology patients, especially those experiencing heart failure and arrhythmias, are a special interest of Dr. Naderi. He has experience in treating complex patients in high-acuity long-term acute care hospitals. In addition, he has significant experience working with and supervising medical students and residents. Outside of work, Dr. Naderi stays busy with his 1-year-old daughter and enjoys playing the piano and guitar.
Dr. Naderi has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in biology. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree at Saba University School of Medicine on Saba, Netherlands Antilles.
