The Great Bend Seventh-day Adventist Elementary School will open Aug. 13 with a new teacher/principal, Mrs. Jessi Whitson Bauder.
Mrs. Bauder is a Kansas native who has been teaching Seventh-day Adventist schools since 2010. She spent the first few years of her career teaching outside of Kansas, but jumped at the opportunity to return to the Sunflower State when the High Plains Christian School in Garden City reopened in 2015. After many years at Garden City, she has recently accepted the position in Great Bend.
Mrs. Bauder has a passion for critical thinking and for her students’ futures. During her leadership at High Plains Christian School the enrollment grew until it demanded two teachers.
The Great Bend Adventist School and the High Plains Christian School in Garden City are both a part of the world-wide Seventh-day Adventist school network. This educational system includes elementary, high schools, colleges, and universities in countries around the globe.
The Great Bend Adventist School is fully accredited and offers a comprehensive K-8 (although there is no K this year) education. It is open to anyone seeking an education with positive morals and quality instruction.
Registration was Aug. 1, but late applications will be accepted. The Great Bend Adventist School is located at 7 SW 30 Ave., 1 mile west of 10th and Patton Road. For more information call 620-559-HOPE.
