The Deines Cultural Center, 820 N. Main street in Russell, is hosting an adult painting and drawing workshop from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 29, taught by Debra Keirce of Broadlands, Va. A reception will follow from 3 to 4 p.m. for the art show, Good As Gold, with work by artists Debra Keirce, Carrie Waller and Maria Bennett Hock.

The cost is $50, and instructor Debra Keirce will bring all the necessary supplies. All the important drawing and painting skills taught in three-day workshops will be touched on. Realism in drawing and painting will be the focus of this three-hour experience, and all skill levels are welcome. You’ll get a chance to bring home some art and a lot of information from Keirce, a master artist. Bring a pen and paper to take notes.
