Teen Cupcake Wars coming next week
Book Nook.jpg

Greetings from the Great Bend Public Library! This week, we have some exciting events to look forward to, so let’s get into them. This Thursday, Jan. 30, we have our regular Genealogy Thursday and Reading with Luna.

On Monday, we have our first Teen Takeout of the new year. Since February is approaching, what better treat than chocolate? Starting Monday, teens can come by the Teen Spot to grab a kit with everything they need to make their own chocolate-dipped spoon, complete with special toppings. Once their spoon is done, they can mix it in hot milk or water for a delicious chocolatey treat that will warm them up on these chilly February days.

Story times are back on Tuesday, with Baby Bounce from 9:30-10 a.m., followed by Early Literacy Story Time from 10:30-11 a.m. That is followed by Tech Tuesday at 11 a.m. and then Genealogy Corner at 5 that evening. Learn about FamilySearch and how it can be used to research your family tree.

On Wednesday, Tween Scene will be back from 3:30-5 p.m. to give preteens a preview of the Teen Spot and its events.

Next Thursday, Feb. 6, we have our regular Genealogy Thursday and, of course, the fabulous Luna, as well as Teen Cupcake Wars. Teens will compete in various cupcake-decorating challenges to see who is the master of frosting! Registration for this event is required so we can make sure we have enough cupcakes for all the challenges. Spots are limited so register now; registration closes on Feb. 3.
