The Golden Belt Community Concert Association will open its 2025-2026 season presenting The Secret Agents at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, at the Great Bend Municipal Auditorium, Lakin and Stone.
The Secret Agents were formed in 2018 with one mission: to bring the sounds and of the 1960s back into the mainstream by celebrating the music of Bobby Darin, Mel Tormé, Henry Mancini, Johnny Rivers, The Buckinghams, Del Shannon, The Association, and many more.
The group, including a multi-talented vocalist and five-piece band out of Los Angeles, takes the audience on a thrilling high-speed pursuit through the music of 1960s jazz, cinema, pop, rock, and rhythm and blues. This GBCCA event is open to association members. No single tickets are available. Because the association encourages young people’s interest in music and the performing arts, full-time students will be admitted to the concert for a $5 donation at the door.
The Golden Belt Community Concert Association and the Great Bend Recreation Commission provide eight handicap parking spaces in front of the northeast entrance of the auditorium for every concert. Blue cones placed at the curb before each space designate handicap-only parking.
Transportation to the concerts will again be provided for members in the Hoisington area who do not feel comfortable driving at night. Sunflower Diversified Services Catch-a-Ride will pick up the members from the parking lot of Hoisington’s Friendship House, 410 E. Third St., at 5:55 p.m. on the night of the concert. Round-trip cost is $4 per person. Members must sign up for the ride at Friendship House or call 620-653-2555.
