The next court date for the Ellinwood woman charged with first-degree murder following the death of a four-month-old baby in her care has been postponed. Christy M. Nemnich was scheduled for arraignment on Dec. 18. She is charged with one count of first-degree murder, two counts of child abuse and one count of operating an unlicensed day care in connection with the March 28, 2023, death in Barton County.

Attorneys for the defense on Monday requested a continuance for entering a plea. A new court date has not been announced.
