Fog contributing factor in injury accident

A Great Bend man was injured in a crash involving a parked semi in the 10 block of NE 20th Road in Barton County early Wednesday morning, according to the Barton County Sheriff’s Office. 

According to the report, Jeremy Combs, 37, Great Bend, was driving a 1991 Chevrolet pickup at approximately 5 a.m. when he thought he saw something in the roadway and swerved right. The pickup collided with a parked 2003 Peterbilt tractor-trailer. Combs was transported to the University of Kansas Health System - Great Bend Campus by Great Bend EMS with non-life-threatening injuries. The report noted heavy fog and limited visibility at the time of the accident.
