Great Bend Fire/EMS

Great Bend Emergency Medical Service reported 14 ambulance runs on Aug. 12, six on Aug. 13 and eight on Aug. 14.

On Thursday, firefighters responded to a trash fire at 10:33 p.m. at Third and Locust. Residents were burning in a fire pit and the fire was extinguished. There was one smoke detector activation reported with no fire.

A smoke alarm was reported at 7:33 a.m. Friday. No fire was detected.

Aug. 13

A theft of a sticker off a vehicle license plate was reported at 10:26 a.m. at Barton County Detention, Great Bend.

A domestic incident was reported at 1:21 p.m. at Walmart, 2503 10th St.

A non-injury crash was reported at 1:22 p.m. at Farmers Bank & Trust, 1017 Harrison St.

A fraud was reported at 1:57 p.m. at American Legion, 1011 Kansas Ave.

A non-injury crash was reported at 4:02 p.m. at Los Cabos Fajita House, 619 Main St.

A domestic incident was reported at 5 p.m. at 327 Frey St.

A non-injury crash was reported at 7:27 p.m. at 19th St. and U.S. 281 bypass.

A criminal damage to vehicle was reported at 10:50 p.m. at 10th and Baker.


Aug. 14

A warrant arrest was executed at 10:05 a.m.

An animal bite was reported at 10:10 a.m. in the 2500 block of Lakin Ave.

A warrant arrest was executed at 4:15 p.m. Aaron Newsome was arrested on a Pawnee County District Court warrant.

A K-9 callout was utilized on a traffic stop reported at 1:29 a.m. at Railroad Ave. and Washington St., Great Bend.

A criminal damage was reported at 1:35 a.m. at 133 SE 40 Rd., Great Bend.

An injury crash was reported at 6:31 a.m. at NE 160 Ave. and NE 150 Rd., Claflin.

A fraud was reported at 1:57 p.m. at American Legion, 1011 Kansas Ave., Great Bend.
