Alexis Ragan Crowther 1988 - 2024

Alexis Ragan Crowther, 36, passed away Oct. 1, at her home in Wichita, Kan. She was born with her twin brother, Cody, September 28, 1988, in Wichita, to Alan and Lori (Kaiser) Crowther. The family moved to Great Bend in 1990.

Alexis was a 2007 Great Bend High School graduate. She went on to receive her bachelor’s in criminology at Kansas State University then a master’s degree in criminal justice at Wichita State University. She quickly made Wichita her home. Alexis began working in 2016, at the Wichita Area Sexual Assault Center as a court advocate, where she stood along survivors facing the legal system. She then transitioned to an Advocacy Coordinator and found her passion raising awareness.

Alexis was an avid sports fan of her favorite teams, K-State Wildcats and Chiefs and loved to travel and watch the games with family and friends. She enjoyed playing tennis and assembling jig saw puzzles. She had a generous heart and loved making gifts for her family and friends. Alexis adored and loved her nephews dearly and was quick to scoop them up on visits. 

Survivors include her parents Alan and Lori (Kaiser) Crowther of Great Bend; her twin brother, Cody Crowther and his wife Kristin of Arlington, Texas; grandparents, Charles and Carol Crowther of Missoula, Mont.; grandfather, David Foss of Great Bend; nephews, Coleman and Conrad Crowther, and baby Crowther due in December. Additionally, Alexis was survived and loved by her aunts, uncles, cousins, coworkers, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her grandmother Dana Foss and grandfather Vernon Kaiser.

Visitation will take place from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, with the family present to receive friends at 6 p.m. and a Vigil with memory sharing at 7 p.m., all at Bryant Funeral Home in Great Bend. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Great Bend, with Father Prakash Kola presiding. Memorials have been designated to Wichita Area Sexual Assault Center, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
