SEDAN — Alice Ann (Leiker) Kerr, 67, of Sedan, formerly of Great Bend, passed away on Monday, Aug. 12, 2025 at the Pleasant Valley Manor in Sedan.

She was born Aug. 31, 1957 in Ness City, the daughter of Richard and Bernardine Jacobs Leiker. She graduated from Ness City High School in 1976.

After graduation Alice worked as a Certified Nurses Aide in nursing homes in Ness City, Great Bend and Dodge City.

She married Terry Brown on Feb. 4, 1984 in Ness City. They lived in Ness County for a while, then Dodge City, and then made their home in Noel, Mo. She worked at Tyson Foods in Noel. She and Terry were divorced.

She married Jimmie Kerr on Jan. 6, 2007 in Larned. They lived in Kinsley and Larned for several years, then moved to Great Bend. She worked at Braum’s Ice Cream and Dairy Store in Great Bend.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Joshua Brown, who died Aug. 4, 2023. 

Survivors include her husband, Jim Kerr, Sedan; a daughter, Kristy Gresty and husband Clint, Dodge City; two sisters, Mary Jane Leiker, Great Bend and Donna Sue Graf and husband Leonard, Phillipsburg; a brother, Wayne Leiker and wife Karen, Holton; and four grandchildren, Caleb Gresty, Jerzie Tompkins, and Mina and Xander Brown.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 22nd at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Great Bend. Private inurnment will be later in Sacred Heart Cemetery at Ness City.
