Andrew Paul “Andy” Schultz, 38, passed away Dec. 17, 2024, surrounded by family at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kan. He was born Jan. 4, 1986, and was adopted by Joel and Donna “D.J.” (Dreier) Schultz in Overland Park, Kan. Lita (Sumibcay) Schultz became Andy’s mother after Joel later remarried.
A resident of Great Bend after spending 11 years in North Carolina, Andy was a Rosewood Services client. He was baptized Lutheran. Andy enjoyed swimming, horseback riding, and going for walks, car rides, and swinging. He’d do anything for a Pepsi, and he loved any and all food.
Survivors include his parents, Joel and Lita Schultz of Great Bend; brother, Aaron Schultz and wife Taylor of McPherson; sister, Kameko Kurtz and husband Mason of Great Bend; nephew, Jaxton Kurtz; uncles, Mark Schultz and wife Jackie, and Paul Schultz and wife Joan; aunts, Kathrynn Welch and husband Jim, and Lori Schultz; and numerous cousins. He is preceded in death by his adoptive mother, D.J. Kuhn; sister, Sarah Schultz; uncle, John Schultz; and grandparents.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, 2025, with family receiving guests from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., all at Bryant Funeral Home. The family requests that everyone dress casually to celebrate the special life of their truly cherished and deeply loved family member.
